Content Transliterated

Content Transliterated

Content is currently in a liminal state where physical and digital manifestations are learning to coexist. With the transition to virtual, physical form is stripped away and the focus is turned to the container with the once tangible converted into bits (1s and 0s) and dumped into a series of templates. The use of ash conveys this transformation by showing that while the content is still present, it is no longer communicative.

Project Overview

Using the context and structure of the library card catalog, along with blank cards, ash, and drawers that have intentionally been left empty, this piece serves as a commentary on our current media landscape and the often disorienting interactions created in the virtual realm. Through interaction with the catalog, an immersive experience is created where the viewer begins to reveal the deeper connections between the different titles.
